Golf doesn’t get much better than at Royal Westmoreland’s world-class 18-hole championship golf course - a 7,045 yard par 72 course of unrivalled beauty, with views of the shimmering ocean from every hole, and a layout to test every club in your bag.

US Masters Champion Ian Woosnam - a homeowner at Royal Westmoreland, Barbados - says the par 3s are some of the best he's played anywhere in the world. Bunkers abound, but considerable use has been made of the natural environment, with the 5th and 6th holes using an old coralstone quarry, and the 12th par 3 challenging the lowest of handicaps with its tight green bordering a ravine. Each hole has several tees to accommodate every level of play.

At the heart of the golf course stands the elegant, colonial-style Clubhouse with sweeping views over the emerald fairways to the deep blue Caribbean Sea. This is home to the Clubhouse Restaurant and golf pro shop with an extensive range of golf equipment, clothing and merchandise.

The 'Halfway House' by the ninth green is open daily from 6:30am to 4:30pm and serves a variety of light snacks and thirst quenching drinks. Water stations serving ice-cold water are also located throughout the golf course.

Royal Westmoreland is fifteen minutes East of the villa and is one of the best courses on Barbados.

The Clubhouse
The focal point of golf at Sandy Lane is the magnificent 55,000- square-foot Clubhouse. Designed by Johnson Fain Partners, the Club House features panoramic views of the Tom Fazio designed Country Club and Green Monkey courses and spectacular sunsets overlooking the platinum shimmers of the Caribbean Sea. Tastefully decorated with every modern convenience, the Clubhouse features a restaurant and bar, lounge areas, a pro shop with an expansive array of premium brand leisurewear and locker facilities.

The Clubhouse Restaurant
The elegant Clubhouse restaurant features an open-plan design and stunning panoramic views of the Country Club course and Caribbean Sea. With a wonderfully varied range of dishes, both light and hearty, the Clubhouse Restaurant is the ideal place to enjoy sumptuous lunch, refreshing cocktails and the sun setting on the Barbados West Coast. Anyone visiting the island is welcome to stop by.

Locker Rooms
The modern facilities of the Clubhouse allow golfers the chance to feel pampered and relaxed, after a challenging round on the golf course. The locker rooms are spacious and luxurious with private lounges attached.

Amenities
Shoes and clubs are may be rented. The golf carts, included in the green fees of the Country Club and Green Monkey courses, are fitted with a GPS system. This global positioning system shows your location on the green or hazards such as bunkers.
The system also provides tips on the best way to play the hole and can be used to order light refreshments. When playing at Sandy Lane, soft spikes are required. On the Country Club and the Green Monkey courses carts are also compulsory and golfers must be accompanied by one caddie per cart who will assist with local knowledge and other services.
